1941
Founding of Bubu AG
Albert Burkhardt founded Bubu by taking over the bookbinding business of C. Fischer at Forchstrasse 51 in Zurich. Even then, the motto was 'Yes, we can do that, we can do everything!' - a part of the company culture
2010
Founding of archîvzürich
In 2010, Bubu AG acquired the license for the brand archîvzürich from Berner Archiv AG, which operated the brand archîvbern,
in order to offer archiving services in the Greater Zurich area.
2016
archîvzürich becomes archivsuisse
What started as a licensing idea grew into a successful partnership. In 2016, it reached a new milestone with a rebranding.
archîvzürich and archîvbern became archivsuisse - a name that reflects both the close connection to Switzerland and the national scope of operations.
2025
Name Change to Bububox
Bubu takes a step forward into independence, parting ways with the long-time licensing partner archivsuisse AG.
The reorientation also includes a new brand: 'Bububox.' The word 'Bubu' directly refers to the parent company,
and 'Box' represents the continuation of the previous offerings around archiving topics - whether physical or digital.
Bububox provides its customers with the complete solution, 'everything out of one box.'
